Spartanburg Academic Movement staff will be in attendance, networking with and learning from other StriveTogether Cradle to Career Network partnerships from around the country.

“We are excited for partnerships from throughout the country to come together for the National Convening,” Managing Director Jeff Edmondson said. “Through this convening, all of the cradle to career partnerships will have the opportunity to network and share collective impact lessons from around the country.”

The StriveTogether Cradle to Career Network brings together cross-sector leaders who are committed to improving education outcomes for kids. Representing more than 50 community partnerships in 28 states and Washington, D.C., attendees at the sold-out event will discuss collective impact best practices and their work to unite communities around shared goals, measures and results in education.

StriveTogether’s Cradle-to-Career Network connects more than 8,000 organizations throughout more than 50 partnerships. Together, the Network impacts more than 5.5 million students.

During the past year, StriveTogether’s collective impact approach has gained national attention from the Stanford Social Innovation Review, the U.S. Department of Education and the White House. This year’s Cradle to Career Network Convening will celebrate the successes of individual partnerships, while considering progressive ways to move forward in impacting student success.

“All four of our staff members together with Board Chair Jennifer Evins are preparing to attend the national StriveTogether convening next week in San Diego,” notes SAM Executive Director John Stockwell. “I know SAM and our education community will benefit greatly from their participation.”

During the three-day convening, Edmondson will give the opening plenary with Cindy Marten, the San Diego Unified School District superintendent of public education. Other speakers include Target Senior Director of Community Relations Reba Dominski; Advertising for Humanity Founder and President Dan Pallotta; and State University of New York Chancellor and StriveTogether National Advisory Board Chair Nancy Zimpher. Notable conference attendees include representatives from the Ford Foundation and the Panasonic Foundation.
