Objectives: By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
recognize how history, historical policies and often government influence are directly related to overall health and wellness for all populations
analyze how justice (racial, social, reproductive etc.) can impact delivery of youth support services;
recognize that systems of privilege and oppression exist, and how those systems impact young people.

Tanya Bass, MS, MEd, CHES®, CSE is the founder of the NorthCarolina Sexual Health Conference (NCSEXCON). She is currently the Senior Health Equity Manager for Active Minds.S he previously served as Program Supervisor managing the Cultural and Community Initiatives in the NC Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities. She is a member of the Women of Color Sexual Health Network (WoCSHN), the Association of Black Sexologist and Clinicians (ABSC), and the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists(AASECT). She is a Certified Health Education Specialist(CHES) and an AASECT Certified Sexuality Educator (CSE). Shei s a current member of the editorial board for the American Journal of Sexuality Education. Tanya is an alumna of North Carolina Central University’s (NCCU) Department of PublicHealth Education, where she has served as an adjunct instructor for several years. She is completing her PhD in Education at Widener University.
